Winter in New York

If you make it in New York, you will make it anywhere - that's what Frank Sinatra told us. And once you've made it to New York, you will find that Frankie Boy was right. New York is speed and noise, beauty and dirt, money and poverty, Broadway and Wall Street all at the same time - so if you want it all, NY is the place to be. Although I do not like cold temperatures, I decided to plan my next trip for the holiday season, which turned out to be a very good idea. Snow and Christmas decorations made me feel like I had arrived in an urban Winter Wonderland.

I am not a very talented ice skater, but my friend and I decided to give it a try anyway. The experience of skating on the world's probably most famous sheet of ice turned out to be most charming, even enchanting - although we had to stand in line for about 1.5 hours.

We were lucky enough to be able to rent an apartment near Rockefeller Center, which probably saved my life, as the temperature had fallen way below zero that day and I had literally turned into a cube of ice. However, some hot chocolate with marshmallows after only a 5 minutes walk brought me back to life.
