To travel to Berlin means to travel to one of the most exciting cities in Europe. Berlin is the capital of Germany, located in the northeast of the republic. With a population of about 3,4 million people is Berlin the largest city of Germany.
The city offers plenty of history and culture. 153 Museums invite for a visit. Galleries are also plenty given. To visit Berlin without seeing the Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden, the Alexanderplatz or Checkpoint Charlie is nearly impossible. The parks of Schloss Charlottenburg and the Tiergarten are wonderful places to have a walk. As a shopping mile the Kurfürstendamm is well known, but also as a little bit expensive. But that doesn’t matter, for there are too many other occasions for shopping.
When it became too hot for walking around, we enjoyed the fine weather at the Wannsee near Berlin. Sometimes we went to the Olympic Area to swim. To stay in Berlin without joining the diverse and vibrant nightlife would be a sin. Alternative theatre is shown and in the Theater des Westens are always very interesting performances. Berlin became the home for people from all nations over the world, therefore a lot of culinary specialities are offered. The S-Bahn is a comfortable and not so expensive possibility to go from one place to the other.
