A journey to Stratford-upon-Avon is a journey in time. To be precise, it is a journey back to the times of the great bard, William Shakespeare. Stratfort-upon-Avon is where he lived and worked. The city of Stratford itself is very charming, romantically located on the river Avon. Take a stroll through town and enjoy the old Tudor houses. Stratford-upon-Avon is packed with antiquity- and curiosity-shops. There is even a whole underground market with little stalls and shops selling antiquities at very good prices. The perfect place for lunch is one of the numerous pubs. Pub lunches are normally a good bargain, cheaper than meals in a restaurant. Pubs serve homemade food such as pies, steak and salad.
