Two days in London
I had a very great, amazing and lovely weekend in Europe's biggest city. Friday morning I arrived at Stansted Airport. The 'Stansted Express' brought me in less than 30minutes into London. With the 'day travel card' I could use tubes and buses as often as I wanted. First I went to see the Houses of Parliament and the stunning Big Ben. From there it was easy to walk through the park to the Buckingham Palace. Back I went over the 'Princess Diana memorial walk' right to the Trafalgar Square where I was impressed by the high statue before I could enter the National Gallery for free - in fact, nearly all of the London museums are for free, which is brilliant, because you can just have a look and decide whether you like it or not. In the evening I had tickets for 'STOMP' which is a stunning show that is definetely worth seeing!
I spent most of my Saturday in Camden Town on the Camden market. This alternative market offers everything: from food over accesoires to clothes. In the evening I went back to the city centre. Here I saw the Picadilly Circus from where I walked to China town where I had a lovely meal in an original environment. In those two days I saw the main sights but also the 'real London life'. London is a lively and lovely city. |
